About the Show

When a young, ambitious black reporter scores a job at a major newspaper, she finds herself mired in racial and sexual politics. Inspired by the career of the disgraced Washington Post reporter Janet Cooke, who was forced to turn back the Pulitzer Prize for fabricating much of her prize-winning article, The Story raises complex questions not only about ethics in journalism, but about racial and individual identity, and the nature of truth itself.
