Glory Road

Glory Road is the story of Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad. It is one of the Mr. History Musicals produced by Quill Entertainment Company. The wacky quide, Mr. History, and 5 ethnically-diverse kids travel back in time through the magic of their imaginations and the magical props inside the History Trunk. Once there, they enact the story of Harriet’s escape with runaways Tom and Robert. Chased by a Slave Catcher, they are forced to flee the dogs, hide in swamps, and rub onions on their feet to throw the dogs off the scent. Robert gets lost, but in the beautiful ballad, “Star,” he remembers to follow the North Star to freedom. Once they reach Philadelphia, Tom diguises himself as a widow to follow a funeral procession to the boat. The Slave Catcher is about t0 catch them when Tom saves the day. The stirring anthem “Glory Road” is sung throughout. A musical the whole family and people of all ages will love. Learn some history while you enjoy yourself!
