Lily Tomlin rose to national prominence with her appearances on the top-rated 1969 TV show Laugh-In, portraying characters like Ernestine, the irritable, gum-chewing, wisecracking, snorting telephone operator and Edith Ann, the bratty five-year old. Many, many successful movies, scripts, albums, Broadway and TV shows, awards and accolades later, Tomlin continues to develop her craft as one of the country’s funniest women.
