The Bug Theatre’s Fifth Annual New Play Festival

About the Show

The Bug Theatre’s Fifth Annual New Play Festival fosters the development of new voices by giving staged readings of exemplary new works directed by some of the top names in the region. This year, three of the four selected playwrights live in Colorado; one was a writer for “Northern Exposure”; one coincidentally credits the cancellation of “Northern Exposure” as his impetus for picking up the habit of writing himself; one is a student at Poudre High School in Fort Collins; and one is a travel writer based in New York. “Nows”, by 17 year-old Brendon Votipka, is directed by Alex Weimer. “Definition”, by Scott Gibson, is directed by Mitch Dickman. “Every Corner On Speer” is written by Craig Volk and directed by Denver favorite Billie McBride. “The Third Rule”, by New Yorker Dan Aibel is directed by Brett Aune.
