on the West Colfax hill overlooking Denver.
They then transformed the city.

Promise on the Hill, is the telling of the Jewish immigrant and first-generation community that inhabited West Colfax in the 1940s-60s. It is told through the eyes of Max Appel whose immigrant parents settled in the area with barely a hope in their pockets but came to be significant contributors to their community and the city of Denver.
