The Adventures of a Black Girl in Search of God

Written by award-winning playwright Djanet Sears, The Adventures of a Black Girl in Search of God is set in Negro Creek, a black community in western Ontario dating back to 1812. It tells the story of Rainey, a woman struggling to come to terms with her daughter’s death, her father’s failing health and the demise of her marriage. Her search for understanding involves re-examining her heritage and her community.
