The Shaw Festival presents a return engagement of Six Characters in Search of an Author, written by Luigi Pirandello and directed by Tadeusz Bradecki. The story begins with a director just about to start rehearsal with a company of actors when the stage is invaded by six people who announce that they are characters – fully formed characters – from an unwritten play. They have a passionate connected past which they begin to present to the theater company. The manager tries to write down the words, the actors try to copy the characters. But something goes terribly wrong. The nightmare becomes real.
