School of Rock

School of Rock – The Musical: School Production follows the story of failed wannabe rock star substitute teacher, Dewey Finn, as he turns his class into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band.

The Curran has invited Oakland School for the Arts to perform the first ever youth production as part of Curran: Under Construction in a limited eight-performance engagement. For this production, every role will be played by a student, and features 14 songs from Academy, Grammy, and Tony Award-winner Andrew Lloyd Webber interwoven with the original songs from the popular film School of Rock. School of Rock – The Musical: School Production is currently running on Broadway at the Winter Garden in NYC.
