The Bible story is about a favored son who overcomes his brothers’ jealousy through reliance on his own gifts. But this musical is a child’s eye view of an ancient and colorful world filled with wonder and wacky sight gags: where even the king of Egypt bears a remarkable resemblance to the King of rock ‘n’ roll. Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat was Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s first collaboration.
