Sophocles’ classic tale of Antigone becomes as current as when Sophocles first presented it. In this very up-to-the minute adaptation presented by the African-American Shakespeare Company, six actors come together to tell the powerful story using a rap-style dialogue against a Gospel rhythm as two different culture and eras pair against each other. This is a compelling new adaptation of a young girl that has the strength and courage to dare and stand for what is right when no one else would. A thought-provoking performance that will make us all think how far are we willing to go to do the right thing? The production is adapted and directed by Bonnee Stingily.
