About the Show

The Willows Theatre, one of the Bay Area’s most celebrated professional theaters, caps its 2004 season with the classic family musical, Annie. With book by Thomas Meehan, Lyrics by Martin Charnin, and Music by Charles Strouse, Annie has become one of the world’s best-loved musicals. Directing the production is Willows Theatre Artistic Director Richard Elliott, with Choreography by Dan Uroff, and Musical Direction by Andrew Holtz.

Based on the exploits of the popular comic-strip heroine, young Annie is a spunky, Depression-era orphan determined to find her parents who abandoned her eleven years earlier on the doorstep of a New York City orphanage run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan’s evil machinations, befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and finds a new family and home in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

There is a special New Year’s Eve performance on December 31, with curtain at 9:00 p.m.
