Faith Healer centers on the travels and tales of faith healer “Fantastic” Francis Hardy (part conman, part artist) and his wife and manager. Each delivers a monologue on the hard life on the road and of brief moments of happiness. The tension between quackery and genuine acts of faith lies at the heart of Brian Friel’s play.
