New York City
Part Rock n’ Roll concert, part stream-of-consciousness reflection, Boomers covers the great music and events of the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s. The musical begins with a college professor welcoming the audience to his class, a survey of the Baby Boom generation. Lights come up in turn on six individuals: Susan, Bob, Katherin, Preston, Roxie, and Miles, whom we will know very well before the end of the evening. The band starts playing, and before we know it, we’re in the midst of a seamless topical riff on the children of the “greatest generation,” a riff guided by the Professor, but driven by the infectious music of the period.
Originally written in 1993 by Kerry Meads and Vanda Eggington, the two have come back to “remix” this newest production. The revised version features new faces and new music!
