The Devil and Daniel Webster, written by Stephen Vincent Benet and directed by Bob May, is a brilliant bit of American folklore for the entire family. Jabez Stone has just been married and the guests are dancing at his wedding. But Jabez carries a burden, for he knows that, having sold his soul to the Devil, he must deliver it up at the stroke of midnight. But his young bride and Daniel Webster stand by him. Webster takes the case and demands a jury of real Americans, living or dead. The Devil agrees and ghosts appear to take their places as the jury.
