The Berlin Circle is Charles Mee’s farcical reworking of Bertolt Brecht’s classic drama The Caucasian Chalk Circle. Set in 1989, the night the Berlin Wall comes down, Mee’s play tracks the adventures of an unlikely duo?an American socialite and her punk au pair?as they attempt to smuggle an abandoned baby, the heir of communist East German leader Erich Honecker, through the mean streets of freshly capitalistic Berlin.
