Wearing bottle-blonde tresses and a diamond-studded cross, country music temptress Tammy Faye Starlite returns to KKOK radio – a tiny farm-report station that FCC sensors forgot – to tell listeners how she found true love, sexual bliss and apocalyptic certainty in rehab. Actress and New York native Tammy Lang channels her comic character and the alter ego – self-described as “a cross between Loretta Lynn, Courtney Love, Lenny Bruce and Billy Graham” – for her irreverent send-up of country music and coservative values, Born Again Again! The show blends over-the-top political commentary and lyrical satire to transform the pious family-values of red-state America into an hilarious world of incest, philandering and hypocrisy.
