Rube!

Rube! introduces the colorful, volatile Rube Waddell and his fellow cast of memorable characters–such as manager Connie Mack, the mean-spirited Ty Cobb and the legendary sportswriter Grantland Rice–but also touches on key trends of the time, including the battle over unionizing, segregation and the country’s growing economic disparity. Through it all, there’s Rube, the overgrown kid with a lust for life. He chased fire trucks, jumped in the stands to sell hot dogs and loved nothing more than being Rube Waddell.
