Life is A Dream

South Coast Repertory presents the world premiere of a new translation and adaptation by Nilo Cruz of Life is a Dream, Pedro Calderón de la Barca’s classic of world literature. Directed by SCR Associate Artist Kate Whoriskey, with original music by Rob Milburn and Michael Bodeen, the play concerns a banished prince who is brought home only to be found wanting and sent away again, believing that the homecoming was all a dream. Could it be that all life is a dream, even the dreams we dream? This 17th century classic asks provocative questions of destiny with fiery passion and romantic lyricism.
