A terrific voice with charisma to spare, coupled with impeccable musical taste and vocal phrasing apply to Russ Lorenson. As an actor, Mr. Lorenson has appeared with San Francisco’s 42nd Street Moon (Finian’s Rainbow, Minnie’s Boys, Red Hot & Blue!, The Golden Apple) and The Willows Theatre Company (1776). As a nightclub entertainer, he has established a reputation as one of the San Francisco Bay Area’s leading interpreters of jazz standards. His sound and approach place him at the intersection of Broadway, jazz, and pop – the very essence of the Great American Songbook.
