Through archival footage, interviews with iconic figures, and electrifying performances, the film unveils the lesser-known stories of salsa’s evolution–from its meteoric rise and decline in New York to its revival and cultural prominence in Cali during the 1980s.

Featuring insights from salsa legends such as Rubén Blades, Henry Fiol, Johnny “Dandy” Rodríguez, Samuel Formell, Angel Lebrón, and Willie Rosario, La Salsa Vive explores salsa’s profound cultural impact, highlighting its role in shaping identities, fostering community, and inspiring resilience.
