About this show

Kennedys! Bouviers! Jackie O! , High Society! and the Hamptons! Welcome to Grey Gardens the home of Edith Bouvier Beale. This Tony winning musical is based on the famous documentary by the Masles brothers documenting the rise, fall, and independent spirit of "Little" Edie Beale, first cousin to Jackie Bouvier Kennedy Onassis. Some people said Little Edie was odd, others thought that she was a fashion genius ahead of her time. Hilarious, touching and original, it was most recently adapted as an HBO special starring Drew Barrymore. Covering 1941-1973, it's the story of a house, a legendary family, and the society from which they came. The musical features Tony nominee Beth Fowler who originated the role of Mrs. Potts in Broadway's Beauty and the Beast and Jacquelyn Piro Donovan who has starred as both Cosette and Fantine in Les Misérables on Broadway. The other exciting news regarding this show is that the Cape Playhouse will be having local auditions in June for the roles of the two young girls!
