The loosely constructed plot of Menopause the Musical introduces audiences to four women who meet in the lingerie department of Bloomingdale’s; each character is easily identifiable. Featured is the earth mother, a curly-haired hippie; the power executive, a strong black woman in a business suit; an aging soap opera star cloaked in frilly pink and an Iowa housewife visiting New York with her husband. These women seem to have nothing in common — except memory loss, hot flashes, night sweats, food binges, the hunt for the perfect black lace bra, not enough sex, too much sex — and more.
Wednesday matinees begin on September 13.
