Works by Annie Baker, John Logan, Bruce Norris, Lorenzo Pisoni, et al. Set for Seattle Rep’s 2011-2012 Season

Seattle Repertory Theatre has announced its 2011-2012 season, which will open with Humor Abuse (September 30-October 23), a show in which acclaimed Broadway actor Lorenzo Pisoni transports us to his eccentric childhood spent performing with his father’s Pickle Family Circus. Erica Schmidt directs.

Next will be Seattle Rep’s productions of the modern classics The Glass Menagerie (October 21-November 20), by Tennessee Williams, and A.R. Gurney’s Sylvia (November 11-December 11), a Seattle Rep audience favorite.

Bill Cain’s new work How to Write a New Book for the Bible (January 13-February 5) will kick off 2012 and will be closely followed by the charming comedy about a small-town “Adult Creative Drama” class, Annie Baker’s Circle Mirror Transformation (February 3-March 4). Next will be John Logan’s Tony Award-winning play Red (February 24-March 18), about famed abstract expressionist painter Mark Rothko.

Closing the season will be Liz Duffy Adams’ Or, (March 23-April 22), a playful farce about England’s first female professional and Clybourne Park (April 20-May 13), Bruce Norris’ spin on Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin in the Sun.
