New Victory Theater Announces 2018-19 Season

New works by Ty Defoe, Laura Eason, and more are on tap.

The New Victory Theater has announced its 2018-19 season.

Among the highlights are Québec's Machine de Cirque, which opens the season with a new show, running September 28-October 7; the American premiere of Circus Abyssinia: Ethiopian Dreams (November 30-December 30); and New International Encounter's Beauty and the Beast, directed by Alex Byrne (October 26-November 11).

Straight White Men star Ty Defoe will bring Ajijaak on Turtle Island to the New Victory, March 1-10. Featuring music by Kevin Tarrant, Dawn Avery, and Larry Mitchell, the show is based on original storyboards by Heather Henson and featuring puppets from Jim Henson's Creature Shop.

Jules Verne's Around the World in 80 Days, adapted by House of Cards scribe Laura Eason and directed by Theresa Heskins, will run May 10-19. First presented by New Vic Theatre Staffordshire, the work is coproduced by Kenny Wax and Simon Friend.
