Paper Mill Playhouse has released footage of its upcoming production of Disney's new musical The Hunchback of Notre Dame, which begins performances March 4 before opening on March 15.

The production, which originated at San Diego's La Jolla Playhouse last year, stars Michael Arden as Quasimodo, Patrick Page as Frollo, Ciara Renée as Esmeralda, and Andrew Samonsky as Phoebus. The score, by Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz, is made up of tunes from the 1996 animated feature film, as well as of brand-new material. Peter Parnell wrote the book, based on the film's screenplay and Victor Hugo's novel. Scott Schwartz directs.

The ensemble includes Julian Decker, Mary Joe Duggan, Ian Patrick Gibb, Beth Kirkpatrick, Samantha Massell, Neal Mayer, Nora Menken, William Michals, Anise Ritchie, Vincent Rodriguez III, Richard Ruiz, Joseph J. Simeone, Jeremy Stolle, and Dashaun Young. At each performance, 32 local choir members from the Continuo Arts Symphonic Chorus will serve as the onstage choral ensemble.
