
Wynton Marsalis, pianist Cecile Licad, and a 10-piece ensemble will provide live accompaniment for five special screenings of Dan Pritzker’s new silent film Louis, which reimagines the life of jazz legend Louis Armstrong.
The film stars Anthony Colerman, Shanti Lowry, and Jackie Earle Haley.
The screenings will be held at the Symphony Center in Chicago (August 25); the Orchestra Hall in Detroit (August 26); the Strathmore Center in Bethesda, Maryland (August 28); the Apollo Theatre in New York City (August 30), and the Keswick Theatre in Glenside, Pennysylvania.
