Tyler Perry will write, direct, produce and star in Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Big Happy Family, according to a report in Variety. The film is set to debut in April 2011.
Perry is well-known for his many plays, films, and television series, including the just-released Why Did I Get Married Too.
As previously reported on TheaterMania, he is also preparing to direct the.film adaptation of Ntozake Shange’s award-winning 1975 play For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf, which will star Anika Noni Rose, Mariah Carey, Whoopi Goldberg, Janet Jackson, Phylicia Rashad, Kerry Washington, Macy Gray, Loretta Devine, Jurnee Smollett, and Isaiah Mustafa.
