The Who’s Tommy Revival to Star Alison Luff, Ali Louis Bourzgui, and Adam Jacobs

A reimagined version of the iconic musical will premiere this June at the Goodman Theatre.

Full casting has been announced for the Goodman Theatre’s revival of The Who’s Tommy, guided by original cocreators Pete Townshend and Des McAnuff. Previews begin June 13 ahead of a June 26 opening.

The 28-person cast will be led by Ali Louis Bourzgui as Tommy, alongside Adam Jacobs as Captain Walker, Alison Luff as Mrs. Walker, John Ambrosino as Uncle Ernie, Bobby Conte as Cousin Kevin, and Christina Sajous as the Acid Queen. In the ensemble are Jeremiah Alsop, Stephen Brower, Haley Gustafson, Sheldon Henry, Aliah James, Gabriel Kearns, Tassy Kirbas  Lily Kren, Nathan Lucrezio, Alexandra Matteo, Morgan McGhee, Mark Mitrano, Reagan Pender, Daniel Quadrino, Jenna Nicole Schoen, Zach Sorrow, Ayana Strutz, and Andrew Tufano. Young Tommy is played as a child and a pre-adolescent by the following actors in rotation: Ava Rose Doty, Presley Rose Jones, Annabel Finch, and Ezekiel Ruiz.

The Who’s Tommy will have choreography by Lorin Latarro, music supervision/arrangements by Ron Melrose, set design by David Korins, costumes by Sarafina Bush, lighting by Amanda Zieve, sound by Gareth Owen, and projections by Peter Nigrini. The nine-person band includes Rick Fox (keyboard and conductor), Valerie Gebert (keyboard and associate conductor), Bobby Everson (percussion), Chris Forte (guitar), Jeremiah Frederick (horn), Larry Kohut (bass), Felton Offard (guitar), Rose Snyder (keyboard), and Jim Widlowski (drums).

Inspired by the legendary album, The Who’s Tommy has music and lyrics by Townshend, with additional music and lyrics by John Entwistle and Keith Moon. The book is by Townshend and McAnuff, who also directs. The original production ran on Broadway from 1993 to 1995.
