Sony Masterworks Broadway has released the album for streaming.

Sony Masterworks Broadway has released the original Broadway cast recording for The Queen of Versailles, the new musical by Stephen Schwartz (music and lyrics) and Lindsey Ferrentino (book) that opened at Broadway’s St. James Theatre on November 9 last fall, after playing a month of previews.
Based on the 2012 documentary about billionaires David and Jackie Siegel and their quest to build the largest private home in America, The Queen of Versailles was Schwartz’s first new Broadway musical since Wicked, and the only big new musical of the fall calendar. But it struggled to find an audience, ultimately closing on December 21.
Kristin Chenoweth and F. Murray Abraham starred as the central couple and the show was directed by two-time Tony Award winner Michael Arden (Maybe Happy Ending and Parade).
TheaterMania’s critic observed, “This A-list team has been able to create some genuinely arresting moments, but they are fleeting in a busy show that still doesn’t quite know what story it wants to tell.”
Now you can listen to the music from the comfort of your own, decidedly less palatial home. The album is available for streaming on all platforms. A physical CD will arrive on May 29 and is now available for preorder.
Produced by Stephen Schwartz, the cast album was recorded and mixed by Ian Kagey at Berklee at PowerStationNYC and Renaissance Recording NY, with additional recording by Austin Brown at Blackbird Studio Nashville. It includes music and lyrics by Schwartz, as well as orchestrations by John Clancy and vocal arrangements by Mary-Mitchell Campbell, Joshua Zecher Ross and Stephen Schwartz. The album is Co-Produced by Mary-Mitchell Campbell and Executive Produced by Scott Farthing.
