The Fountain Theatre is set to present the west coast premiere of Tanya Saracho’s El Nogalar, January 28-March 11. Laurie Woolery will direct.
Inspired by The Cherry Orchard, the play centers on the Galvan family who return home to Mexico after years in the U.S., where they must come to terms with encroaching drug cartels, economic upheaval, and a new class order.
The cast will feature Sabina Zuniga Varela (Dunia), Yetta Gottesman (Maité Galvan), Isabelle Ortega (Valeria), Diana Romo (Anita), and Justin Huen (Lopez).
