Suzan-Lori Parks Wins 2018 Steinberg Distinguished Playwright Award

Suzan-Lori Parks, the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright of Topdog/Underdog, Father Comes Home From the Wars (Parts 1, 2 & 3), and more, will receive the 2018 Steinberg Distinguished Playwright Award, also known as the "Mimi" Award. She will receive a $200,000 cash award from the Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust.
The award is given every other year to "an American playwright whose body of work has made significant contributions to the American theater." Other past recipients include Tony Kushner, David Henry Hwang, Lynn Nottage, Sara Ruhl, and more.
Parks's latest play, White Noise, will make its world premiere at the Public Theater in February 2019.
