Burns’ new play, directed by Soderbergh, is currently running at the Public Theater.
Director Steven Soderbergh and playwright Scott Z. Burns will discuss their currently running The Public Theater production of The Library as part of a special Public Forum event on April 21 at 8pm.
Hosted by Public Forum director Jeremy McCarter, the evening will look at the way artists and journalists shape narratives and the power of stories. Burns and Soderbergh will be joined by New York Magazine writer Frank Rich. The event is titled How We Tell Stories — And Why.
In The Library, Chloë Grace Moretz stars as Caitlin Gabriel, a young woman who survives a deadly shooting at her high school and must struggle to recount her tale to her family and the authorities. She is joined onstage by Ben Livingston, Michael O'Keefe, Daryl Sabara, Lili Taylor, David Townsend, Tamara Tunie, and Jennifer Westfeldt. Featured on the creative team are Riccardo Hernandez (scenic design), Gabriel Berry (costume design), David Lander (lighting Design), and Darron L. West (sound design).
