The Showtime series Weeds will end after its upcoming 8th season, according to published reports.
Weeds centers on Nancy Botwin (played by Tony Award winner Mary-Louise Parker), a former suburban mother-turned-pot dealer, and her eccentric family — including Broadway veterans Justin Kirk and Hunter Parrish, as well as Alexander Gould. The new season, which begins on Sunday, July 1, will pick up following a cliffhanger that left viewers wondering about an assassination attempt on Nancy.
