Shereen Pimentel to Star in Evita at American Repertory Theatre

The Andrew Lloyd Webber-Tim Rice musical will be directed by Sammi Cannold.

Shereen Pimentel (West Side Story) will star as Eva Perón in the American Repertory Theatre’s production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s Evita, running May 17-July 16.

Directed by Sammi Cannold and based on her New York City Center gala concert production, Evita will also feature Omar Lopez-Cepero as Che, Caesar Samayoa as Perón, Gabriel Burrafato as Magaldi, and Naomi Serrano as Mistress. In the ensemble are Martín Almirón, Julian Alvarez, Adrienne Balducci, Leah Barsky, Bianca Bulgarelli, Camila Cardona, Melody Celatti, Esteban Domenichini, Rebecca Eichenberger, Sean Ewing, Nicole Fernandez-Coffaro, David Michael Garry, Eddie Gutierrez, Eric Anthony Lopez, Jonatan Lujan, Caleb Marshall-Villarreal, Ilda Mason, Jeremiah Valentino Porter, Leonay Shepherd, and Maria Cristina Posada Slye. Sky Vaux Fuller will appear as Child. Marissa Barragán, Mathew Bautista, Isabella Lopez, and Miguel Angel Vasquez are offstage swings.

The production will have choreography by Emily Maltby, Valeria Solomonoff, and Kelsey Burns, with music supervision by Kristen Blodgette, associate music supervision by Michael Patrick Walker, music direction by Mona Seyed-Bolorforosh, orchestrations by David Cullen and Andrew Lloyd Webber, sets by Jason Sherwood, costumes by Alejo Vietti, lighting by Bradley King, sound by Connor Wang, and hair and wigs by Ashley Rae Callahan.
