Thunder Levin, the creator of the popular Syfy Network movie series Sharknado is shopping around the idea of a Broadway musical, he told the Confidenti@l page of The Daily News.
"I think it would be hilarious to do Sharknado: The Musical, Levin reportedly told the paper. "I’ve been proposing that since the first one became a hit on the first night. They could get some Broadway musical guys to write the songs and the music, but you’ve got to let me write the script." The title he's proposing? Sharknado: The Great White Way.
Of course, this is just a pipe dream on Levin's part, and there's nothing actually planned as far as a production goes — that we know about. But if King Kong and its two-ton animatronic gorilla is a thing, it could definitely rain sharks onstage.
Sharknado is a series of made-for-television disaster films about a tornado that lifts sharks out of the ocean and drops them into human society. Chaos naturally ensues. The third in the series, Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!, airs on Syfy on July 22.
