Full casting has been announced for the Geffen Playhouse’s world premiere of John Pielmeier’s The Exorcist, the stage adaptation of William Peter Blatty’s famous 1971 novel, which will run July 3-August 12. Tony Award winner John Doyle will direct the production.
The show focuses on a young girl who is possessed by a supernatural spirit, much to the horror of her family and the local clergy.
The cast will feature Richard Chamberlain, Brooke Shields, David Wilson Barnes, Harry Groener, Emily Yetter, Stephen Bogardus, Manoel Felciano, Tom Nelis, and Roslyn Ruff.
Pielemeier is best known for his play, Agnes of God. Doyle’s many directorial credits include Company, Sweeney Todd, A Catered Affair, Road Show, and Merrily We Roll Along.
