Qween Jean Is the First Openly Trans Tony Award Winner in Broadway History

Qween Jean made history at the Tony Awards when she won Best Costume Design of a Musical for Cats: The Jellicle Ball, becoming the first openly trans Tony Award winner in history.

She was also nominated this season for Best Costume Design of Play for Liberation. The award went to Jeff Mahshie for Fallen Angels.

Cats is currently running at the Broadhurst Theatre.
