On Wednesday, January 5, Hamilton Deane and John L. Balderston’s classic adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula opened at the Little Shubert Theater. The production is directed by Paul Alexander.
Lucie Arnaz and husband Laurence Luckinbill attended the opening. Their daughter Katherine plays the role of Miss Wells.
The play, set in England right before World War II, focuses on how Dr. Seward and his best friend Dr. Van Helsing rescue Seward’s daughter Lucy from the mysterious disease that has left her incredibly weak and plagued with bad dreams.
The company stars Michel Altieri in the title role, alongside George Hearn (Abraham Van Helsing), Emily Bridges, (Lucy Seward), Timothy Jerome (Dr. Seward), Jake Silbermann (Jonathan Harker), John Buffalo Mailer (Renfield), and Rob O’Hare (Butterworth).
The creative team features scenic designer Dana Kenn, costume designer Willa Kim, lighting designer Brian Nason, and sound designer Chris DelVecchio. Special effects are by Greg Meeh.
