Hugh Bonneville, who stars as Robert Crawley in Downton Abbey, attended the Broadway production of Mary Poppins, at the New Amsterdam Theatre, on Friday, December 16.
Following the performance, he went backstage to meet the show’s stars, Steffanie Leigh and Gavin Lee, who portray Mary Poppins and Bert, respectively. The Emmy Award winning Downton Abbey is created by Julian Fellowes, who is also the book writer of the Mary Poppins stage musical.
