A reception was held for stage and screen star Angela Bassett at Bemelmans Bar at the Carlyle Hotel on Thursday, January 19. Jean Doumanian hosted the event, which celebrated the actress’ successful Broadway run in The Mountaintop, which will play its final performance at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre on Sunday, January 22.
Bassett was joined by her Mountaintop co-star Samuel L. Jackson, as well as Glee star Darren Criss — currently starring on Broadway in How to Succeed in Businesss Without Really Trying — who joined Bassett at the piano.
