Peter Dinklage, Duncan Sheik, and More to Join New Group's 2019-20 Season

Dinklage will play Cyrano de Bergerac in a new musical adaptation, while Sheik will adapt the film ”Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice” into a musical.

The New Group has announced four productions for its 2019-20 season, its 25th.

In the fall, Peter Dinklage will star in Cyrano, a new musical adaptation of Edmond Rostand's Cyrano de Bergerac, adapted and directed by Erica Schmidt (Mac Beth), and featuring music by Grammy-winning band the National's Aaron and Bryce Dessner, lyrics by Matt Berninger of the National and Carin Besser, and choreography by Jeff and Rick Kuperman. Additional casting will be announced later. Performances will be at the Daryl Roth Theatre.

Also in the fall will be the world premiere of a new play by Donja R. Love (Sugar in Our Wounds), One in Two, directed by Stevie Walker-Webb. Casting will be announced later. Performances will be at the Pershing Square Signature Center.

In the winter, the company will present the world premiere of a musical adaptation of the 1969 film Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice, featuring music and lyrics by Duncan Sheik, and a book by Jonathan Marc Sherman. Sheik himself will be featured in the cast, with additional casting to be announced later. Scott Elliott will direct, with choreography by Kelly Devine. Performances will be at the Pershing Square Signature Center.

And in the spring, the company will present the world premiere of a new play by Thomas Bradshaw (Burning), The Seagull/Woodstock, NY, an adaptation of the Anton Chekhov play. Scott Elliot will direct. Casting will be announced later. Performances will be at the Pershing Square Signature Center.
