Seth Bockley’s new comedy runs May 25-June 22.
Casting has been announced for Ask Aunt Susan, a new play by Seth Bockley, the last production of the 2013-2014 season for Chicago's Goodman Theatre. The play will run from May 25-June 22 at the Owen Theatre, with opening night set for June 2. Henry Wishcamper directs.
Inspired by Nathaniel West's Miss Lonelyhearts and directed by Henry Wishcamper, Ask Aunt Susan follows a 20-something man who moonlights as a female online advice guru and gets more than he bargained for when the website takes off. Featured in the company are Alex Stage as Aunt Susan, as well as Marc Grapey, Meghan Reardon, Jennie Moreau, and Robyn Scott.
"Ask Aunt Susan is a kind of satire of the early Internet startups, where cultish celebrity self-help meets good old-fashioned American greed," said Bockley. "I'm thrilled to be working again with Alex Stage, Marc Grapey, Jennie Moreau, and Megan Reardon in roles they have come to define in my imagination, as well as a newcomer, the hilarious Robyn Scott."
The design team features scenic design by Kevin Depinet, sound by Richard Woodbury, costumes by Alison Siple, lighting by Keith Parham, and projections by Mike Tutaj.
