Willis is expected to make her Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in the long-running musical.
Actress Rumer Willis, daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, will now begin performances in Broadway's Chicago on September 21. Her six-week engagement will continue through November 1 at the Ambassador Theatre.
Willis had been originally scheduled to take on the role of Roxie Hart from August 18-October 11, an engagement that was previously pushed back due to a foot injury. She had then been announced to start performances September 14, a date also postponed for a week.
Featuring classic tunes by John Kander and Fred Ebb, Chicago tells the story of Roxie Hart, a nightclub dancer who murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media, and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago's slickest criminal lawyer to transform her crime into a barrage of sensational headlines.
Willis later offered the following apology for the delay on her Twitter account:

The company currently includes Dylis Croman as Roxie Hart, Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly, Ryan Silverman as Billy Flynn, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart, NaTasha Yvette Williams as Matron "Mama" Morton, and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.
