National Endowment for the Arts to Receive Special 2016 Tony Award

The Tony Awards Administration Committee has announced that the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and Miles Wilkin will both be honored with the 2016 Special Tony Awards.

The NEA is the independent federal agency whose funding and support gives Americans the opportunity to participate in the arts, exercise their imaginations, and develop their creative capacities. The NEA supports arts learning, affirms, and celebrates America’s rich and diverse cultural heritage, and extends its work to promote equal access to the arts in every community across America.

Six-time Tony winner Wilkin is the COO and Executive Vice President of Key Brand Entertainment An original founder of Broadway Across America, he is more broadly recognized as one of the founders of North American Touring Theatre.

The American Theatre Wing’s 70th Annual Tony Awards, hosted by James Corden, will air on CBS on Sunday, June 12 live from the Beacon Theatre.
