Little Women: The Musical Begins Performances at Ocean State Theatre Company

Directed by Ethan Paulini, performances begin tonight and continue through March 19.

Little Women: The Musical begins performances tonight at Ocean State Theatre Company.

Based on the novel by Louisa May Alcott, Little Women features a book by Allan Knee, music by Jason Howland, and lyrics by Mindi Dickstein. The plot is described as follows: "Little Women: The Musical vividly brings to life the March family of Concord, Massachusetts. In a time of war and sacrifice the four March sisters — aspiring writer Jo, romantic Meg, pretentious Amy, and kind-hearted Beth — guided by their mother Marmee, grow from girls into women, while the family patriarch is away serving as a Union Army chaplain during the Civil War."

The cast features Amiee Turner as Marmee, Tess Jonas as Josephine "Jo" March, Alison Novelli as Meg, Bryn Martin as Beth, Abigail McMahon as Amy, Michael Luongo as Laurie, Tommy Labanaris as Professor Bhaer, Staci Morin as Aunt March, Kevin Patrick Martin as John Brooke, and Curt Denham as Mr. Laurence.

Ethan Paulini directs and Esther Zabinski serves as music director.

Performances continue through March 19.
