The new play will be presented at American Repertory Theater.
Emmy winner Leslie Jordan and Tony winner Stephen Spinella will star in the upcoming American Repertory Theater production of Rob Roth's Warhol Capote, directed by Tony winner Michael Mayer. It will run September 9-October 13.
Inspired by recorded conversations between the artists Truman Capote and Andy Warhol, the work follows the two artists as they attempt to create a Broadway play together. Over the course of the next several months, they would sit down to record a series of intimate, wide-ranging conversations. The play never came to be, and the hours and hours of tape were lost to the ages.
Spinella will play Warhol and Jordan will play Truman Capote. Scenic design is by Stanley Meyer, costume design by Clint Ramos, lighting design by Kevin Adams, sound design by John Gromada, and projection design by Darrel Maloney.
