Tom Hanks and Kelli O'Hara Set Broadway Return in This World of Tomorrow

Tom Hanks and Kelli O’Hara will return to Broadway in This World of Tomorrow, a play written by and starring Academy Award winner Hanks, and James Glossman.

Directed by Tony Award winner Kenny Leon and adapted from Hank’s short stories, the production comes to Broadway in fall 2027; it previously ran at the Shed in 2025.

In This World of Tomorrow, Bert Allenberry (Hanks), a forlorn scientist from the future, embarks on a time-traveling quest for true love as he continues to return to one special day at the 1939 World’s Fair in Queens, New York.

In our review of the Shed production, our critic said, “Hanks and O’Hara have decent enough chemistry between them, but the problem with this play is its physics.”
