Only Make Believe, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating and performing interactive theater for children in hospitals and care facilities, held its annual gala on Monday, November 5 at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre. Christopher Meloni, best known for his performance as Detective Elliot Stabler on the series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, served as host.
Legendary stage and screen actor Sir Ian McKellen, supermodel Petra Nemcova, and JP Morgan Chase executive Guy Chiarello were the evening’s honorees.
Guests and performers included organization founder Dena Hammerstein, Ashley Brown, Kerry Butler, Jay Armstrong Johnson, Moya Angela, Derrick Baskin, Nicholas Christopher, Trevon Davis, Wendy Diamond, Stephanie Gibson, Autumn Hurlbert, Marla Mindelle, John Eric Parker, Courtney Reed, Seth Rudetsky, Bret Shuford, Antoine L. Smith, Jason Michael Snow, and Adrienne Warren.
