Stage and screen star Katherine Helmond will make guest appearances on two upcoming episodes in the fourth season of HBO’s True Blood, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
She will be playing the role of Caroline Bellefleur, the grandmother of the show’s characters Andy Bellefleur (Chris Bauer) and Portia (Courtney Ford).
Helmond’s Broadway credits include The Great God Brown, for which she received a Tony Award nomination, Mixed Emotions, and Private Lives. A six-time Emmy Award nominee, Helmond has starred on the TV sitcoms Soap, Coach, Who’s The Boss?, and Everybody Loves Raymond.
Created by Alan Ball, True Blood also stars Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, and Sam Trammell, along with the recently announced Scott Foley, who will be joining the cast this season. Other stage veterans scheduled to appear on the show in the coming season include Gary Cole, Dane DeHaan, Fiona Shaw, and Rebecca Wisocky.
