Performances begin tonight of IAMA Theatre Company and the Latino Theater Company's world premiere of Jonathan Caren's Canyon, directed by Whitney White, at the Los Angeles Theatre Center. The production will run through March 24, with opening night set for Thursday, February 28.

The play is described as follows: "In Canyon, purpose collides with ideals when two families are rocked by an unpredictable accident on Labor Day weekend in 2016 — before everything in America changed. A newlywed couple and a Mexican father and son are striving to find a better view in life, and the price ultimately may be each other. Rising New York-based director Whitney White helms an immersive staging of this daring new play that looks at gender, citizenship and the costs of trying to live a conventional American life."

IAMA co-artistic director Stefanie Black (This Is Us); Luca Oriel (Shameless); founding Latino Theater Company member Geoffrey Rivas (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation); founding IAMA members Brandon Scott (Grey's Anatomy) and Adam Shapiro (Waitress); and Christine Woods (CBS's Man With a Plan) star. The creative team includes Dan Soule (scenic design), R.S. Buck (lighting design), Jeff Gardner (sound design), Melissa Trn (costume design), and Michael O'Hara (prop master).
